This 45kg piece of salvaged driftwood is from the top of a massive Hemlock tree. It appears to have been naturally split by a lightning strike, yet continued to grow for some time afterwards. Estimated to be around 800-1000 years old.
Stained in permanent acrylic pigments and finished with oil varnish. The base is made out of birch plywood and red cedar, painted with water based stain, permanent acrylic pigments and finished in oil varnish.
